Do's and Don't for Operation and Maintenance at Schools

Kind Attention: 

For School HM and Lab In charge 

Please read Do's and Don't points carefully and strictly follow it for good maintenance of Lab infrastructure. 

DO's 

1. Identify and Assign a Single Person of Contact (SPOC) from School side to operate and Handle Lab. 2. Keep all the systems (Server, Firewall, Thin Clients, Monitor, Printer, IP Phone, Speaker in dust free and Moist free environment. 
3. Always keep UPS, Server and Firewall in Power ON Condition, the Power ON LED has to blink. 
4. Use all the thin client systems daily and regularly for education purpose. 
5. Use scanned and virus free USB, only in server machine for copying education contents. 
6. Offline Apps and internet connection are available in all thin client for student's usage. 
7. Printer and Scanner to be used only for study material purpose. 
8. All the files created by students shall be stored only in server and anything stored in thin client will be a temporary file and will be deleted automatically. 
9. Any fault in UPS, projector, Printer, and computers please raise a ticket only...!!! 
10. Keep a copy of O&M manual and read all sections for handling/ operating the IT systems. 
11. Please always do proper shutdown for machines (server, thin client, and Projector). 
12. Projector will use only during AV sessions, remaining time projector should be Power off mode. 
13. Projector on and off using only by remote 
14. In case printer toner is low kindly purchase new toner or refill. 
15. Kindly ensure main power input will be 230 V and no fluctuation from Main supply. 
16. In case any heavy rain and lighting kindly discuss with CCC using IP phone for shunt down all machines (incl Servers). 
17. UPS should be work on normal mode condition. 
18. Ensure the EB line should be 220V 230V. 
19. Ensure in the server network profile connected school server -2. 
20. Make sure main EB body earth should be available. 

Don't 

1. USB will not work in any of thin client machines, the USB ports in thin client are disabled for safety reasons. 
2. Don't use Server, Thin client and internet connection for Personnel activities, all systems activities are recorded in logs and under 24/7 monitor from CCC. 
3. Students should not allow to use server machine and Printer. 
4. Don't pull off / remove the power cables & Speaker cables.
5. Please make sure no rodents (like rats, cockroaches, lizard) are inside the labs. 
6. All IT assets and non-IT assets like chairs and tables should not be damaged. 
7. RF antenna installed at terrace should not be damaged. 
8. Either students or teachers should not change any configuration or delete any OS configuration file from server. 
9. No other OS and software to be installed without permission from CCC. 
10. Server password should not change by anyone. L&T Smart World Safe & Smart Cities Communication 
11. Don't use private hot spot or Wi-Fi or etc. 
12. Avoid raising tickets for Main EB failure and Printer Toner low, etc. 
13. Student should not be allowed to be alone in labs in absence of supervising Teacher. 
14. Don't put the UPS Byepass mode or don't connect the direct EB or using Electrical junction box. 
15. Make sure voltage fluctuation not happening in the school side. 
16. Don't touch the socket, wire, cable and any electrical items
